Reading Recommendations

As an English Literature Major, I read a fair amount of books for pleasure when I’m not reading them for classes. Here are some recommendations you may enjoy!

Malazan Book of the Fallen is the ultimate high fantasy series, and one of my personal favourites. Being an astounding 10 books in length with around 1000 pages each, this epic is definitely not for the faint of heart. Yes, the series takes heartfelt commitment and time, but is truly worth it. You are rewarded with an incredibly mesmerizing storyline, amazing in depth world building, powerful dynamic characters, and complex plotlines. The writing spans across several continents and hundreds of characters, so delving into this series feels like you have embarked on an archaeology exploration. While each individual tale weaves its own climatic ending, there is an overarching storyline that connects the events together. I am honestly so enchanted and enamored by this series that the name of this blog was even inspired by characters known as Ascendants!

Nonfiction:

Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy is a life changer. Seriously. This is the one book I always recommend to friends and family who are interested not only in business, but continuous self-improvement for all aspects of their lives. Reading this masterful guide, you will learn practical mental exercises that encourage taking positive actionable steps, as well as techniques for rewiring you mind to attract success in all important areas.
