+ [49th Parallel & Lucky’s Doughnuts Review]
Being a blogger, I am constantly searching for cute coffee shops to work in. As far as Instagram-worthy food shots are concerned, marble tabletops and coffee take the top tier. I wanted to share one of my favourite spots with you, and it is 49th Parallel, specifically the Kitsilano location. I have also come here on different occasions with some of my lovely friends because it’s the perfect setting for relaxed girl chat over desserts.
When you first arrive, the bright welcoming space greets you immediately. The colour scheme is white and light blue for the outdoor patio, while incorporating more natural wood textures inside the coffee shop itself. The outdoor patio has a glass ceiling so it’s great for any weather.
As soon as you step in, a generous display of delicious baked goods is the first area you will notice. Also, 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters carries their own special line of coffee. While the lattes are good, I really like to get their iced coffee, which comes in a cute dark bottle that you can pour to your preference over ice. The coffee shop offers soy milk in addition to regular milk and creamer options, which is wonderful is you’re vegan or going dairy-free.
The doughnuts themselves are the standout point at this location, because not only are there complex flavours that cycle in and out depending on the season, but they are beautifully presented. Definitely not the healthiest option, but once in a while you have to treat yourself!
Starting this blog almost a month ago, it has been a fantastic learning experience. Yes, it is a lot of work, but the process of drafting posts, taking photos, and curating a better reading experience for you has been truly worthwhile. I love to share positive experiences, and will continue to do so while hopefully meeting new people and bloggers along the way!
